As I watch the presidential primaries, in their respective speeches candidates continuously mention the "strong principles our country was founded upon", which is why the United States has become the world superpower that it is. And then I think of the above. NEVER ever, ever forget your history. No, we can't live in the past, it is important to learn from our history and move forward. But please remember this is the reason why there hasn't been and still isn't a level playing field. Slavery wasn't that long ago, really. Get out there and VOTE.
